Shrimp and Boursin Cheese Grits
Roasted Garlic Balsamic Honey Brussels
Easy shrimp & grits! You’ll never guess how long this took me to make - I am shocked! For sure putting this quick & delicious meal on our summer rotation. Please send me a pic if you make it! I love to see 💕
What you need for shrimp:
•1.5 lb of shrimp (pealed & deveined)
•1 package of sausage cubed (we used green onion sausage from **** and it was SO good.
•1 small yellow onion diced
•2 tsp of flour
•1/2-3/4 cup of milk (depends on how saucy you want it)
•1/4-1/2 cup of parm cheese (no one is judging)
•salt, pepper, GP & OP - to your taste
•green onions for garnish
What you need for grits:
•Quaker quick grits (you can use your grits of preference) - 1/2 cup of grits before cooking!!
•1/2 a circle of Boursin cheese
•1 big handful of spinach (if you want!)
What to do:
First, get your grits water boiling. (If you’re doing stone grits - start these now) While this is happening - chop up your sausage & onion & clean your shrimp if needed. Over medium high heat - brown your cubed sausage then set aside. Then, add your onions directly into the pan (do not drain the grease!) and let them start to get crispy. Next, add your shrimp & seasonings. (If doing quick grits - you can start these now). Cook shrimp until at least 145 internal temp! (About 2-3 mins per side).
Remove shrimp/ onions from pan the add your flour in. Give it a good whisk & then slowly add in your milk. Once the milk has reduced (you want it thick) add your cheese & still until thickened. Add your sausage, shrimp & onions back in and stir. Once your grits have finished - remove from heat && add your Boursin & spinach if using! Top with green onions and served immediately!
