Boursin Orzo Broccoli Bake with Crispy Sausage

Roasted Garlic Balsamic Honey Brussels

Boursin orzo bake with broccoli

What you need:

•chicken sausage - we get ours from Costco (the Parmesan black pepper) & it’s our absolute favorite && we’ve tried a lot

•broccoli - 1 large head or 2 small (or 1 bag) really however much broccoli you want! We tend to over broccoli because the girls LOVE it.

•orzo - 2 cups

•water - 4 cups (or you could do a chicken broth up to you! Or half and half)

•garlic - 1 tbsp

•Boursin cheese circle

•salt/pepper/onion powder to your preference ( OOO red pepper flakes if you have no kids and like it spicy!)

What to do:

With the Boursin bake- First things first - preheat your oven to 425 degrees F. Then chop up your broccoli or if pre cut pour it right into a 9 x 13 baking dish. Then add orzo, water, garlic, spices & give a good mix. Then add your Boursin cheese circle in the middle of the dish & pop in the oven for 32-35 mins (mixing around the Boursin at around 15ish minutes to make sure broccoli/orzo are cooking evenly) . Once your orzo is at your desired texture level around 32mins take it out & give everything a big stir. Okay - so when you get it out you’re going to say WOAH way too much water - I promise it’s fine! Once you mix the everything together& it is SO creamy & delish.

For the sausage - after you pop the orzo into the oven get to chopping. Cut it into small coin like pieces and put directly on a cookie sheet (no foil, no parchment paper, no nothing). Place into the oven while your orzo is baking. Check after 10 minutes & flip the sausage over so each side gets a nice crisp. Then after about 15-20 (total time!) ish mins in the oven it should be SUPER crispy. But if not - all ovens are different - leave it in there until you have your desired crispiness.

Serve together 🥰

!! Recipe below !! This is a GOOD one! Crispy sausage & farro bowls!! Guys - this one is great for so many reasons - super simple, quick & easy to customize! If your family isn’t a fan of farro swap for orzo or pearl quinoa!

What you need:

•a pack of your sausage or chicken sausage of preference - we used @LilButcherShoppe apple sausage & it was AMAZING

•2 cups of cooked farro

•1 large green apple cubed

•2 handfuls of arugula - to your taste or spinach!

•1/2 cup parm cheese (goat cheese would also be amazing)

My go to dressing:

•2 tbsp olive oil

•1 tbsp of white wine vinegar

•1 tbsp of maple syrup (or honey if you don’t have a child under 1!)

•1/2 tbsp of Dijon mustard

•1/4 of a lemon squeezed

•salt & pepper to preference

What to do:

Preheat your oven to 400 F! Then get your farro cooking to package instructions - different farro cooks differently! We get ours from @Whole Foods Market & it takes 15 minutes of cooking. Then cut up your sausage & lay it on a sheet pan & put into the oven. Let the sausage cook for 10 minutes then pull out the sheet pan & flip each piece over. Then cook for an additional 5-7 minutes.

When farro has about 5 minutes left - make your dressing (mix together all dressing ingredients above) in a large bowl. Then, add in your apple, farro, cheese, arugula & crispy sausage! Super easy & quick!! Top with extra cheese 🥰
